What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. "Local storage" is a similar browser technology used to remember small preferences. We use both sparingly, and only where they're needed for the site to work or to remember a choice you've made.

Strictly-necessary cookies

These are essential for the website to function — mainly to keep you securely signed in. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) they are exempt from consent, so we don't ask permission for them. You can't opt out and still sign in.

• better-auth.session_token — keeps you signed in to your ThisQuarter account. Set only after you log in. Purpose: authentication. Expires after 7 days(refreshed while you're active). HttpOnly and Secure (HTTPS-only) in production.
• better-auth.csrf_token — protects sign-in and account forms against cross-site request forgery. Purpose: security. Session-based.

Preferences we store locally

The following are stored in your browser's local storage (not cookies) and never leave your device or reach our servers. We list them here for transparency:

• tq_cookie_ack — remembers that you've dismissed the cookie notice, so it doesn't show again.
• a11y — remembers your accessibility choices (high contrast, reduced motion, text size).

Payments

We don't process card details ourselves. When you subscribe or manage billing, you're taken to Stripe's secure, hosted payment pages. Stripe sets its own strictly-necessary cookies on its pages to process the payment and prevent fraud — these are governed by Stripe's cookie policy, not ours. No Stripe cookies are set on the ThisQuarter website itself.

What we don't use

We do notuse advertising cookies, analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics), social-media pixels, or any third-party tracking on our website. We don't build advertising profiles or sell your data.

Managing cookies

You can view, block or delete cookies through your browser settings (usually under Privacy or Security). Because the only cookies we set are strictly necessary, blocking them will stop you from signing in. Clearing local storage will simply reset the preferences above.
